Newborn Pinkie Pie Free Crochet Pattern

Pound Cake and Pumpkin Cake by KurosakiSoarin on DeviantArt

Any My Little Pony fans remember the Cake's newborn twins, unicorn Pumpkin Cake and pegasus Pound Cake. In their introductory episode, Pinkie Pie is attached at the hip to these new little creatures. She also has the opportunity to baby sit them, and things don't exactly go as planned. I have such a love for the design of these newborns, that I decided to hook up a newborn Pinkie Pie!

The pattern is available for FREE right now on Ravelry and Craftsy. She can be worked up with sleeping eyes or with big round felt eyes, as the newborn Cake ponies feature in their episodes. Pinkamina Diane Pie is the perfect size for my 20 month old toddler, and fits perfectly into her arms without being too big or small. She would make the perfect gift for the holidays if you're a fast crocheter!

Comments and feedback will be greatly appreciated, as I'm hoping this is a success among the more talented crafty folk. I plan to make some different ponies who will receive their own patterns, which will be distributed later on as well. Enjoy!

Young Granny Smith Crochet Amigurumi

Since My Little Pony is all the craze, I've created a young Granny Smith pony with all the accessories. Of course, this was my first attempt at my own pattern, and I absolutely love how it turned out. A pattern may be coming soon if there are enough requests!

Her body needs some improvement, but I used tips I've learned from creating Amigurumi to put together pieces of her body and hair. I always create the head first, followed by the ears, body and legs. I'm picky in the way that I feel each piece should be connected to the next as soon as it's finished, but I should probably streamline this to become more productive.

Granny's hair was the most creative and enjoyable piece on my part. Because we don't really get a good look at the back of young Granny Smith, without her bonnet on, we don't know too much about her hair. Since I am a big fan of french braids, I decided to incorporate an inside out french braid for fun.

I'm a huge fan of tiny details, which is why I went the route of embroidered eyes. I order my felt from a local individual, and use colored cotton floss to bring life to all my creatures. Granny's eyes were done in an amber ombre and the truly are my favorite of all that I've done.

No southern belle is complete without her bonnet. Young Granny's red frilly bonnet is completely crocheted, and can be unattached from her head for broader playing capabilities, as well as safer sleeping arrangements if your little ones take her to bed.

All dressed up with nowhere to go, our pony is decked out from nose to hoof. She has her previously mentioned bonnet, apple themed frilly kerchief, and baby blue saddle bags. Granny can carry all her necessities to and from the market with ease.

Have you enjoyed previewing this pony? Please comment below if you'd be interested in purchasing a pattern and I'll be sure to put it online ASAP!
